This is a unique lamp that will makes your guest wondering its system and enjoying the beautiful effect it makes. It was designed by Richard Clarkson Studio who took an inspiration from nature, or in this case rain. This lamp has a shape like a fishbowl, complete with the water inside it. The hidden pump system allows the water to drop around the bulb, creating a beautiful ripple effect. You can see the video here. More description by Richard Clarkson Studio:

Continuing with the studio’s nature inspired designs, the Rain lamp uses water and an intricately designed pump system to create a shimmering, ripple effect. The inherent shape of the globe acts as a magnifying lens that projects onto the surface below. LED technology allows for the mixing of light and water in ways that have never before been possible, in a design that is safe, compact and durable. Estimated to last over 100,000 hours, the LED bulb is both stunningly bright and economically efficient. A hidden pump circulates water from the pool and releases droplets that fall around the bulb. As the droplets fall, the light reflects downwards displaying a mesmerizing, rippling dance.

Using a micro-peristaltic pump, a single droplet can be precisely timed to drop when required. However, the real magic happens when three droplets are simultaneously released. Ripples of each droplet collide creating a series of constructive and destructive interferences, a momentary condition in which the ripples bounce off of each other. This is displayed in the projected light below as beautiful patches of light and dark patterns.
