This is a simple house with modern design in the hills above Buckleton Bay, Matakana, New Zealand. It has natural and relaxing environment in an exposed, sensitive, rural coastal environment. The idea is to make an original family summer cottage relocated to next door made way for a new campsite formed as connected pavilions. The horizontal roof is want to say about “the land of the long white cloud”. It gently lifting in flight, lightly skimming the land, masts tensioning the wings.
To built this house, Pacific Environments using polished concrete aggregates, texture and patterning – contrasting, solidity and enduring for the walls. It also has sliding glass doors to show the great views, and when you go out you will feeling what is – sea breezes, reflections and sea-change personalities, moonlight and sun; whilst being secure from storms.
