This is a residence designed by Gary Gladwish Architecturefor a woman who want an open and simple residence at this hillside site on Orcas Island in Washington State. It is a forested piece of land with madrone trees, firs, beech, thistle, moss and rocks that decorate this site. It also has wonderful views on the west. This house has simple, open, modern and low maintenance design. Eagle Ridge Residence contains of a combined kitchen-dining-living area, study, master suite, art studio and storage area. This house use old barn wood, rusty steel, moss and rocks as the materials. It has big windows and slide doors to give an expansive views to the outside, bring the natural environment inside the house. This house is built in L shape, bring an intimacy to all area.
