House of the Temple, also known as Temple of the Scottish Rite, is a Masonic temple designed by noted architect John Russell Pope on 1915. It is located in Washington, D.C., United States, exactly at 1733 16th Street, N.W., in the Dupont Circle neighborhood.
The design is looks simple and inspired by the Mausoleum at Halicarnassus, but the building has great history. It makes the House of the Temple is designated as a contributing property to the Sixteenth Street Historic District. Inside the building, there are thousands of books and Masonic artifacts, also a banquet room, the offices of several Masonic officials, a temple, and many exhibits.
