This is a new way to remember those who died, a chair made the bone matter of a deceased person. Designed by Max Kuwert, Yanik Balzer and Willem Rabe, they use a software algorithm to calculate the construction due to the different amount of bone material each person have. The result is this simple and modern chair with unique construction of inner skeleton. More description by Max Kuwert:

The B1 Chair proposes to repurpose the bone matter of a deceased person, typically between 5 and 10 kilograms after dehydration, to create an entity that acts both as an object of remembrance and utility. As the amount of bone material varies, an elaborate software algorithm determines the material distribution on a case-by-case basis. This results in every chair having a unique inner skeleton and overall weight, while maintaining the same outer shell. A discreet dedication on the backrest credits the material supplier for generations to come. Collaborative project with Yanik Balzer and Willem Rabe.
